Replying to Outlook mail

Hi there

Hope you can help me. I've scoured the forums here for an answer and can't find anything so wonder if this is just affecting me.

On my previous PDA running WM2003 when using the standard email client I had no problem replying to a mail in my outlook folder (activesync) and then choosing the account to send the reply from. This was really useful for me as it meant I was able to send replies to my Outlook emails while out and about rather than waiting to get home and sync with Outlook again.

Well, I've recently got a new device running WM5 and it seems that there is no option to choose which account to use when replying to emails.

Does anyone know of a workaround, tweak or just something that I'm missing?

Looking forward to sorting this out or even just finding out if anyone else has the same problem.

Cheers.

As i undertsand it, if you reply uding outlook email, it will only reply when you sync with outlook on your pC. If you want to sned straight away the you have use a different account (though it can still be the same email address) which you set up with the POP3/SMTP etc details. I have know idea how exchange servers work so you will have to ask someone more knowledgable than me if you are using MS exchange.

I have set up a pop3/smtp account that I use when I'm out and about and this works fine in general.

In WM2003 whenever I clicked "reply" to any message (text, MMS, Outlook or POP3) or even just composed a new message I then had the option to choose which account this new message was sent from.

This proved particularly handy because it meant I could reply to an Outlook message and then choose to send that reply from another account meaning the reply would go then rather than wait till syncing.

Not 100% sure I'm explaining myself clearly here but it seems that WM5 doesn't allow for this and while it's a minor inconvenience it's one I'd love to resolve.

Cheers

Cap,

I agree that the WM5 messaging application is a weak point, there is lots about it, i dont like such as you cant paste a number copied from sms or email into an existing contact, you have to create a new one and then copy and paste over to an existing contact. A small issue maybe but one that annoys me. Also, no way of sending business cards to other mobile users, vCards yes, but no use to a normal mobile. I could go on. Apparently WM6 is not much of an improvement.
