Guest jacoch Posted January 24, 2003 Report Posted January 24, 2003 Hi all, As I didn't practice my C for some year, I tried to realize a task manager as exercise. It is now available in beta version. It displays either the application list (that have an opened window and after filtering system apps) or the process list. With the first one you can ask an application to close, with the second one you can kill a process. Process list is not filtered. Sorry, but it is only available in french (oops. just edited this post. english version available. link below is the new one now). If there is interest, I may improve it. Don't hesitate to give idea, comment or bug report. This is a beta version that has been tested on my own SPV. So usual recommendations: use it at your own risk, blablabla. The app is available at http://www.bersier.com/sptaskmgr.zip
Guest Thurstan Posted January 24, 2003 Report Posted January 24, 2003 Hi Jacoch, I can't get to the page you posted, keeps saying 'cannot be displayed'
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted January 24, 2003 Report Posted January 24, 2003 As my French is poor to non existant (sorry) But I've had a go and it works well When you do get chance to translate put me at the top of your list please ;) Good job Ashley

Guest Ed Posted January 25, 2003 Report Posted January 25, 2003 Great work mate. Really useful. What would be cool is if you had a command line or menu option where you terminate a list of pre-defined apps. All the non essential things, like Media Player, IE, All explorer etc. Quickly free up a lot of resources with one button click.
Guest Paul [MVP] Posted January 26, 2003 Report Posted January 26, 2003 Excellent! Very polished - highly recommended! P
Guest akarno Posted January 26, 2003 Report Posted January 26, 2003 Great app. Works well. Finally I can kill rebound!
Guest Will Posted January 26, 2003 Report Posted January 26, 2003 Superb, anyone looked at all the processes, and produced a 'safe to kill' and a 'do not kill' list, (maybe speeding phone up a little??) Will
Guest SANDMAN Posted January 27, 2003 Report Posted January 27, 2003 Greetings all. New to the SPV phone. Absolutely great. Help needed. I have downloaded notbad.exe and sptaskmgr.exe, where do I store them on the phone? I have tried the Storage Card but does not work. Any suggestions?
Guest Bazz Posted January 27, 2003 Report Posted January 27, 2003 Store them on the storage card and then right click and create a short cut. Copy this shortcut to IPSMWindowsStart Menu and you should see them in your Programs menu.
Guest SANDMAN Posted January 28, 2003 Report Posted January 28, 2003 Thanks brother, Sorry, forgot to tell you that I have yet to unlock the phone - which I have done and.......MAN........this is GOOD! (Baa, I should have been a programmer! 8) )
Guest jhew Posted February 8, 2003 Report Posted February 8, 2003 Greetings all. New to the SPV phone. Absolutely great. Help needed. I have downloaded notbad.exe and sptaskmgr.exe, where do I store them on the phone? I have tried the Storage Card but does not work. Any suggestions? The way I like to do it is.... Put the actual program file on your storage card, maybe in it's own folder. Then create a shortcut to this file, and put the shortcut in your SmartphoneIPSMWindowsstart menu (now this ones up to you depending on where you want the icon to be displayed in your phones menu) accessories folder on the phone hope it helps
Guest mhm Posted February 18, 2003 Report Posted February 18, 2003 Hi i was messing around with the task manager andnoticed somehting different. Nothing to serious, just unusual while thr battery status displays the correct remaining power in the status bar, and the obj memory and storage memory display the remaining memory correctly in the status bar. The Physical memory probably give the correct value of remaining free storage but the status bar display the opposite compared to the rest, shows a higher value if the memory is less than half, and a lower memory space value shows a higher indication on the status bar. That is unless i have an older version and this has been already noted. If then sorry for this post. By the way great Job jacoh, Keep up the good work
Guest Paul [MVP] Posted February 18, 2003 Report Posted February 18, 2003 I noticed a problem where when you exit by pressing shortcut key, (i.e. 6 in the menu), it immediately brings up the contact list. Weird! P
Guest madu Posted February 19, 2003 Report Posted February 19, 2003 I can NOT say I have the same problem as Paul. Idea: In 'Application List' to show amount of 'RAM' free would kinda be helpful..
