Help desperately needed!

Hi all, I really need some help! I've currently got an SPV C600 on Orange PAYG but that bloody joystick is annoying the hell out of me, maybe its just me but every single phone i've had with this stlye joystick has broken. Anyways, I've found the imate SPL which uses a different stlye of control and this looks great. However, I really want to take advantage of the web n walk offer on tmobile (7.50 per month Vs the 30 i'm currently paying, and having to ring up to add the extra each day!). Does anyone know how I can do this? I've checked Expansys and they only offer it with O2 packages or sim free. The only way I can think of is to buy a phone and contract from tmobile, sell the phone, buy an SPL and pop the sim card in that. Whilst I will do this if I really need to, its going to cost me quite a bit more (you'd expect the phone to be free on a contract). The other thing, would the aforementioned set up work? Would there be any problems using unlimited web 'n' walk on an SPL? And is it ok to use MSN on there? Heard mixed reports. PLEASE anyone out there with any info let me know because i'm desperate!! Many thanks, Mike :)

Er, OK...

Yep, that would work

If you can't find the handset from T (and I doubt you will this early on) then that's one option. The other option is just to buy the phone SIM free from Expansys and get a SIM-only deal from T. Probably less hassle, but more expensive I would expect.

Would there be any problems using unlimited web 'n' walk on an SPL

Nope, that would work

And is it ok to use MSN on there?

Depends on the WnW package you get

It's cheaper at http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/product/11805.htm than expansys

Get the best phone you can from T and flog it on ebay - that's what I did when I wanted to keep my Universal - Cold the compact II for £150 and the CoPilot for £125 (IIRC) - easily enough to cover the cost of your spl

Just my 2d's worth

ive had conflicting reports from T-Mob about having WnW on the SIM only tariff...

Spoke to the telesales people originally and they said it could be done. Go to your local store and they can do it there and then.

Went to my lcal store in Southampton and they said i cant have the 7.50 SIM only tariff with WnW!! Tried another store in Peterborough and they said it depends on the CS operator - some work out of Cardiff and some work out of the Phillipinnes and the Cardiff ones WILL do it - the overseas people wont!

does anyone actually have the monthly SIM only 'contract' for 7.50 a month(no minimum period) with the the 7.50 WnW option on it?

Yeah I realised it was a tiny bit cheaper at mobilefun.co.uk but I wanted to stick with Expansys anyway because I've heard good reports from people-and there delivery is quicker. I'm going to order over the weekend I think-just checked Expansys again and they now have it reduced to £233 anyways so it is cheaper here now!

Samsonite excuse my ignorance but what is a CS Operator? That £7.50 per month sim only deal with no contract sounds like exactly what i'm looking for-but only if I can add web 'n' walk to it. Anyone have any more information on this? :)

my apologies...

when i spoke to the Peterborough T-Mobile shop staff they told me that when they sell the SIM only package with no minimum contract, they have to speak to their Customer Services operations team. These teams are based in the UK and overseas. Apparently, one of the teams is useful and one is err, less than useful - i cant actually remember which one she said was the good one although i do think it was the Cardiff lot...

I agree that its a winner of a setup if its available. You cant port a number in tho, you would have to take a new number.

Unfortunately, the Southampton T-Mob staff were the ones that said i couldnt do it and i havent had chance to get back onto the Telesales people as yet...

You can get a bundle of 50 (off-peak?) minutes for £7.50/month, and add WnW to that. £15/m

I talked to a CSR about it just the other day. I didn't actually take it yet, but they knew what could and couldn't be done. I actually asked "what's the cheapest contract I can add WnW to?"

Thanks Samsonite & chucky.egg that's cleared it up quite alot! Just realised however that it's the web 'n' walk pro/plus (whichever it is thats 12.50 per month and gives you access to instant messaging) that I will need. Presumably the fact that I can add standard web n walk to that deal doesn't mean that I can add the better web n walk. (I say this because standard is available on 3 of t-mobiles pay monthly plans, whereas as pro is only available on 2). God they don't make this easy do they?! :) It's not even like I can just pop in to a store or ring up and ask because people seem to be getting contradictory advice! Think i'll just try e-mailing, going into a store, and calling and see which answer gets the most votes! Plus if I get stuff down in writing at least I can get a refund if they do end up selling me the wrong stuff!!!

i'll be very interested in how it turns out for you...

I will try and have another go with the telesales people when i get the chance - work and kids allowing!!! The original telesales woman told me that i could have WnW Pro - the £12.50 option - on the SIM only so i think someone somewhere will give it a go for you!
