My HTC Hermes (MDA Vario II) and Activesync is giving me gip.

I am sure with my old E200 and C550 I could copy/paste or drag/drop between folders on my PC anc folders opened with Activesync (Tools-ExplorePocketPC or the Explore button on the toolbar) IN BOTH DIRECTIONS!!

But now I can only drag/drop or copy/paste in one direction only, from PC to phone NOT from phone to PC... what's that all about?

I have tried a reinstall of Activesync 4.1 that came with the phone, I have tried installing 4.2... no joy.

I have tried with convert files on, and with convert files off... no joy.

I have tried moving files off my C550 with Activesync... no joy (fine in the other direction).

I have tried it with Synchronize Files on, and off... no joy.

The only way (short of putting the MicroSD in a card reader) I have found is to move the file to be copied (from the phone) from it's resting place on the storage card into the Mobile Device folder and then drag/cut it out of the WM_ My Documents folder (on the desktop) to wherever i want it on the PC. This is a bit longwinded and could clog up the phone memory. I would have thought there would be a way of moving the sharing folder onto the storage card... is there?

I can only do the opposite. i.e phone to laptop.

All a bit weird this :)

Could this be a firewall issue?

I'm using ZoneAlarm, but the activesync programs have full permissions.
