MP3 FM transmitter experiences

Hi there,

I was wondering if there's anyone out here who can tell me if FM transmitters that you can use in your car to hook up your mp3-player to the radio are any good. I'm thinking of buying one of those to use in my car and if the sound quality is any good even in my house (to hook up my computer upstairs to my stereo in the livingroom downstairs).

PS: oh, and this is a purely hypothetical topic, since the use of transmitting FM radio in the Netherlands is illegal without a license, and I reckon my government won't grant me one... :)

Um, they're OK in the car, you get FM stereo quality. OK but nowt special, and a faf if you have to keep retuning due to a stronger station broadcasting on the same frequency.

I wouldn't use one around your house. I'd get something like this http://www.apple.com/airportexpress/
