Guest gujuguy67 Posted November 27, 2006 Report Posted November 27, 2006 Since July, I've switched from the SDA to MDA about 4 times a piece. I really like the Wizard, but the one thing that bothers me is the fact that I cannot bluetooth sync. I also really liked the SDA/Tornado, but it was more difficult to input data. That being said, I've made my decision to stick with the Wizard. I, however, still need instructions on how to sync via bluetooth. I have searched and followed every set of instructions I've been able to find but come up unsuccessful. I would really love some step by step detailed instructions as I just cant seem to get it.
Guest jimbouk Posted November 27, 2006 Report Posted November 27, 2006 The simple three point plan in Activesync help (just search for bluetooth) will sort it out. BUT not if you have mucked about with it already and set up various BT com ports etc that confuse the settings. It is best to remove all the BT com ports from the device and the pc and then start afresh. BT activesync used to be a real nightmare, but ever since AS 3.x, MS put the procedure down in the help files and if you follow that it will work fine - unless you have some weird BT adaptor.
Guest Laser_iCE Posted November 27, 2006 Report Posted November 27, 2006 I recently got a new Dell laptop (Inspiron 6400) and got the built in bluetooth and I couldnt wait to set it up! As jimbouk said, following the steps that ActiveSync takes you through makes things easier, however, if theres a particular step that stumps you, let us know and I'll go through it again and write you a guide :)
Guest gujuguy67 Posted November 27, 2006 Report Posted November 27, 2006 Well the thing is after I set it all up, I don't see an option for ActiveSync on the Wizard. I see only 2 check boxes. One is for a serial port and the other one is for dial up networking. So I chose both then set up a new outgoing connection via COM 7 and made sure the ActiveSync on the laptop was looking on that port as well. Still no dice. Which COM ports do I delete? I have few serial ones. Thanl you guys.
