C550 WAP Settings

HI All

In need of help agian although im usually not to bad at this stuff this mobile phone seems to have me completly stumped..

I have a orange spv c550 which i use on the virgin mobile network all works well untill i tried to set it up on wap / internet

tried to get the settings of virgin web site and it would not send them automaticly to my phone so phoned virgin and they gave me the settings but not how to install them

I now have a a list of six settings

IP Number

user name

Password (which is blank)

Home page address

acess address

ip port

Could someone please tell me where exactly the settings go (without being rude)

tried to sort it for the last week or so but im really stuck

i have found that i can search the internet with it if im connected to my pc which seems a little strange as soon as i disconect it it stops

Start->Settings->Connection->GPRS->Menu Add->Leave DNS blamk and it should work

Any probs, let us know (PS you don't need there homepage)

what i did was

start>settings>data connections>all on this screen are set to automatic

then in connections

Connects to : this has INTERNET selected

access point : GOTO.VIRGINMOBILE

User name : USER

Password : (this is empty)

primary DNS :0.0.0.0

Secondary DNS : 0.0.0.0

IP Address : 193.030.160.003

Thats all the settings i have can anyone please tell me if they are in the correct place

and if i should have something elsewhere on the phone selected

(ps this phone should work on the internet shouldn't it)

(pps whats the differance between internet and WAP

Unless anyone knows different it doesn't look like Virgin have fiull internet access - see http://www.modaco.com/Virgin-UK-t200965.html

Sorry, didn't see this bit....

The phone works on the internet - but only if your provider gives access - it looks like Virgin don't.

WAP is a very cut down version of the internet - in fact there are very few WAP sites and the onlly useful one I found was train timetables. You need to set yopur connection to connect to WAP rather than "The Internet" and you should be able to access these - presumeably the home page virgin gave you was to their wap portal so probably a good place to start,

I have a c550 on virgin with these settings

in gprs settings menu

connects to The internet

access point goto.virginmobile.uk

user name user

password leave blank

primary dns 0.0.0.0

secondary dns 0.0.0.0

ip address blank

Virgin gave me settings which did not work. I found these after trawling the internet for days. But now I dont use the web on virgin it is too expensive ( £5 per Meg ) so I'm going for tmobs w&w tariff instead
