Guest thenext1 Posted November 29, 2006 Report Posted November 29, 2006 so, the latest i-mate rom has got a zillion bugs, is slow as hell. the wireless connection always drops even when in front of the router. and it likes to turn on on its own, when i turn it off. and the phone frequently hangs during startup, making me pulling out the battery. therefore, i'm asking you for a suggestion on a replacement rom that works better and possibly faster. which one? vodafone? qtek? is it possible to flash another vendor's rom? many thanks
Guest Confucious Posted November 29, 2006 Report Posted November 29, 2006 Have you had a look over at spv-developers.com?That's where all tye ROM hackers and upgraders hang out.
Guest awarner (MVP) Posted November 30, 2006 Report Posted November 30, 2006 imate used to be the ROMs to get, have you tried the basics first and doing a hard reset?
Guest thenext1 Posted December 1, 2006 Report Posted December 1, 2006 imate used to be the ROMs to get, have you tried the basics first and doing a hard reset? obviously, i did hard reset twice, each time in response to the phone totally screwed up after installing a CAB (not even running it).. but the problems are still there, maybe even from the first reboot. i didn't have all these complaints with the first ROM - no wifi bugs at all, no startup freeze, but .... it's older and has got a load of other problems... and i'm afraid of downgrading (be it a smartphone or a coffee machine :) )... it's got to be an upgrade! many thanks
Guest awarner (MVP) Posted December 1, 2006 Report Posted December 1, 2006 The only other standard ROMs are for the Qtek 8300 and the US version of the SDA (not to be mistaken for the European SDA which has a different processor etc). I'm not sure on the availability of the SDA ROM but as you know the Qtek is only available to registered Qtek owners and can not be linked here.
