Exchange hosting, push mail, WM5 & POP

Having spent most of yesterday googling for exchange hosting, I found a thread on Modaco that suggested 4smartphone.net as a good provider. An hour later after taking the 'free trial' option I had my current PST sync'ed to my new host, and my XDA IQ working on push mail! Yippee! I was dead chuffed! No more waiting for mail!

Well :)

I was disappointed to find that it could take between 20-50 minutes to either pull mail from my current POP box or to receive it from my POP box forwarding the mail (I've tried both, and I can see the mail in the POP box from my web browser sitting there waiting ). Surely that's not 'real time'?

Has anyone else experienced such difficulties? It did cross my mind that it may be down to the 'trial version' and taking on the subscription may improve the service. Does anyone know another good service where I can get exchange hosting, push mail and the ability to use my existing email POP box?

I doubl it's the trial that causes the delay, more likely that it's the system polling or general latency.

In effect you've got the worst of both worlds... polling accounts with the expectation of near instant push.

Until you're pushing from your main address you wont get the real benefits.

1 and 1 are good, but not perfect. I don't know of reports of othe providers.

I think the general impression is that 4smartphone are as good as it gets. I personally dont poll my pop servers to my exchange account with them...my main work account is pointed at my 4smartphone exchange account and thus business critical stuff arrives within a minute or so.

I have a couple of pop accounts for non work stuff - but they are set up to text alert - and thus I know straight away if I need to pull them down from the pop servers.
