Running out of memory - wizzard?

HELP! my 4 week old vario is constantly low on mem, all i am running apart from default is tom tom6 on 1gb card, ( using less than 1/2 the card,) but phone/pc mem is low all the time, any hints?

Program mem seems to have spare, but main mem is low.

Try clearing your Internet Explorer history, temporary internet files and cookies on the options menu under IE.

Then install this patch to make it use your memory card to store it instead.

many many thanks, all sorted now, over half my memory was being wasted by the cashed crap.....

thanks can someone add this to sticky, i just unistalled loads of programs and only released 4meg with your tip released another 20meg.. hope cab to use card as storage works

I also suffered from low memory problems. I was pointed in the direction of MemMaid, which did the trick for me.

I have a Vario as well, but less than 2 meg in main memory free. IE cache goes to mem card, progs installed on mem card, except for the 2 meg (ish) TomTom files. I can see no reason why all the memory is gone!

You can safely get rid of the \appmgr folder,

move it to the card first, then when you're sure everything still works ok you can permanantly delete it

The call history also takes up a surprising amount of space,

As do emails and text messages, make sure your deleted items folders are empty, and empty your sent items folders
