Guest goldtop Posted February 14, 2006 Report Posted February 14, 2006 I have a blackberry and an spv 2000 but I have not managed to log-on to my on-line bank nor my on-line credit card company. is there any monile phone available in uk which is powerful enough to allow such access. I do a lot of travelling outside uk and like to keep an eye on my finances whilst travelling. I am loathe to access banks etc from internet cafes and it seems like overkill to carry a laptop for this purpose. any thoughts pse???
Guest goldtop Posted February 14, 2006 Report Posted February 14, 2006 p - tks for advice. downloaded opera mini to spv2000 on orange network and it works well. could not download same application to blackberry, on t-mobile. message on blackberry was "server error". don't understand. again many thanks for assistance. you saved me buying yet another smartphone. For banking use, you might want to hit the 'landscape' option and turn off 'fit to screen'. P

Guest goldtop Posted February 26, 2006 Report Posted February 26, 2006 I downloaded opera mini to my spv m2000 and it worked well for a few days. I was able to browse web including my bank at speed.then it failed. my internet explorer also started failing to connect with web pages. I did a hard re-set and internet explorer worked well again. I loaded opera mini and my internet explorer went wrong again. I did this 3 times with same result. when I check opera site it seems that opera mini is not supported by the spv m2000 ( or should that be the other way ). for the moment, I have given up on opera mini and just use internet explorer. I would welcome advice since when it worked, opera mini was excellent.
Guest goldtop Posted February 27, 2006 Report Posted February 27, 2006 tks for this. which version, therefore, should I use on my spvm2000?
Guest moroni Posted March 21, 2006 Report Posted March 21, 2006 I have no problems using my SPV M2000 and the natwest online bank system, to the extent that i can transfer money and use all their features from the phone. Paypal is another kettle of fish however, and i cannot do anything of note with the phone on that, including buying things off of ebay, which is a darned shame :)
Guest moroni Posted March 22, 2006 Report Posted March 22, 2006 ' date='Mar 22 2006, 09:33' post='1320']I think PayPal plays quite happily with Opera? P Cheers Paul, looks like i will be checking that out! Only problem is that it will mean i will be spending even less time actually working at work :)
