Switched DNS provider, obviously it's not gone very smoothly!

I'm working on fixing it now...

You got an ip address we can point at in the meantime?

You could edit your c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts and add the line:

70.85.29.116	www.modaco.com

That should work!

Nice one, it worked. Just going to the IP address itself droped me into a phpmyadmin login box, same with modaco.co.uk.

Updated, just spoken to the new hosts, and there is a problem with DNS replication that should be resolved in 2-3 hours...

No, your post wasn't 3 hours after my one, but no, still no joy... will keep chasing, and if it's not sorted this evening, roll back DNS to old provider...

Ah! - times showing as GMT not BST - either that or I'm just ahead of my time....

[Edit] I had auto DST adjustment ticked - when I unticked it another check box appeared asking if DST was active - selecting that has corrected times. Don't know why the auto DST wasn't working[/Edit]

[Edit 2] Just done nslookup on mdaco.com and there ar 8 addresses - all 66.150.xxx.xxx or 66.25.xxx.xxx - surely any changes to the A record will take up to 3 days to filter through? - or isn't it the A record you're changing?[/Edit 2]

A record IS what is changing, but 3 days isn't necessarily how long it will take to filter thru.

I am pleased to report that the correct data is FINALLY on the DNS servers, so everything should start returning to normal any time now.

Phew, what a day...

Now can see the site - yay!

With some errors

Yep, that's because the webserver itself doesn't have the updated DNS... that will go away soon.

I'm just glad I can get it at my work now :)

The PC's here are locked down so I had to wait for the changes to take effect normally as the system files are not accessable.

Seems to be sorted now.

Thanks for your hard work, Paul.
