Orange Network

Hi,

It seems to be knock Orange year, weeell, our network signal strength at home and more importantly my local hostelry has dropped from 3/4 bars to no service/ 1 bar, over the last one/two months

Phoned Orange and was told quite openly that :-

1] TWO transmitters in our area have been down for SEVERAL months.

2] Two OTHERS are down as well.

I thought modern day electronics is mainly module swapping, how can they be left down for that long, and even worse how can they let FOUR transmitters be down at the same time in the same area.

Of course it was first suggested that it was my phone, wrong, my wife's is showing the same lack of signal, then, it could be atmospherics etc. etc.

If I could pick up a better signal from another company we would change immediatly, but tried T-Mobile once and had less signal than now, was without a phone for three days.

I couldn't get an answer from him about when they'll be fixed.

Funny that, because exactly the same has happened to me.

When I joined orange as a member of staff last feb, I had a 3G phone and at home I had full 3G and GSM signal at all times.

This has now changed, and I'm lucky to get 2 bars of 3G and/or 3 bars of GSM at home - while my tmobile sim picks up full strength no matter where in my city I am.

What's happening with Orange.. is it just me or are they going a bit stale and have the 'cant care' attitude these days?

Hi,

Could it be a case of someone at the top of repairs not putting pieces of the puzzle together.

One engineer goes to a transmitter and is unable to fix it and says " never mind there's another three masts in the area", another engineer visits a second site and is unable to fix it "never mind there's another three masts in the area" until all four are down and no one realises it.

We're bracketed by two O2 transmitters but wasn't too keen on the tarrifs :)

Hi,

Been mailing a guy in the States, works for a cellphone Co., I don't know which one, but that doesn't matter, he said that he gets the same complaint every spring, it's the leaves growing, I tend to believe him.

If you think we've been with Orange for approx. 10 years [it was always the stongest signal] that's about 10 feet of growth, plus leaves, very possibly a good answer.

He also mentioned the signal will improve in the fall. ! !
