Guest pookiecheeks Posted August 13, 2006 Report Posted August 13, 2006 hello all, ..i'm so lost. is jello in america, jam in the uk, or is it jelly ? and what about chips over there ? aren't they crisps here ? if so, what are crisps over there ? pooks
Guest pd.ryder Posted August 13, 2006 Report Posted August 13, 2006 US jello is UK jelly, and US chips are indeed UK crisps. I've no idea if our US friends have any crisps at all, but I'm sure they'd eat lots of 'em if they did :)

Guest chucky.egg Posted September 21, 2006 Report Posted September 21, 2006 Mildly amusing story... An american friend hurt herself (little scratch, but you'd think she'd lost her arm) so I offered her a plaster. Apparently a US "plaster" is a UK "plaster cast" and she thought I was taking the p1ss. The best thing about american friends is asking them how their fanny is, without getting slapped
Guest zarquon Posted September 21, 2006 Report Posted September 21, 2006 If you really want to confuse an american, send them to the fair city of York The streets are called gates The gates are called bars and the bars are called pubs :)
