Guest mattie01 Posted August 16, 2006 Report Posted August 16, 2006 ok let me try and set the scene abit... i currently have two phones with orange, one has expired and is being moved over to pay as you go till i move it across to t-mobile flex 35+ W'n'W on a lg choclate. (this is the contract i want but the phone the misses wants) the other has one month left, and after just speaking to orange, they are going to offer me a decent ?35 a month contract and a spv m3100(for free) to renew this contract. (this is the contract she wants but the phone i want) what i wanted to know is if i get both phones unlocked and swap the sims over, will i get the full hcdpc(or whatever it is called) and 3g access on the m3100, or does the t-mobile sim need to be a "3G sim" in a 3G phone to get it to work at that speed? as my mates been telling me the choclate isn;t a 3G phoen therfore the sim i'll get with it will work in the m3100 but i wont get the proper 3G speeds as the sim isn't 3G? is this right? if it is correct does anyone know if it will be possible for me to phone t-mobile and tell them i want a 3G sim in my choclate? thanks in advance guys
Guest dr who Posted August 16, 2006 Report Posted August 16, 2006 I believe all TMob SIMS issued are 3G SIMS, so the SIM you get should be fully compatible with the high speed data service. Might be wrong though.
Guest mattie01 Posted August 16, 2006 Report Posted August 16, 2006 cool thanks for the help, now all i gotta do is wait for "the call" which i'm hoping wont be that long but knowing my luck it will be.. :)
