Guest mobdna Posted October 18, 2006 Report Posted October 18, 2006 I've been messing about with a little program called Wayfinder Earth for a few weeks now, it's a bit similar to Google Maps but without the sattelite imagery. You can get directions to and from certain points and also search for different amenities in that area. A list of compatible h/sets can be found here denoted by a small globe symbol. Guest pd.ryder Posted October 24, 2006 Report Posted October 24, 2006 I tried this some months back but they "didn't support my device" (a C550). Looks like they've upped their device list now but I'm into Google Maps now which seems to do quite nicely. Will Wayfinder do anything GMaps won't?
Guest pd.ryder Posted October 24, 2006 Report Posted October 24, 2006 Well, that was disappointing!! Downloaded and installed a generic smartphone app using much of my 4Mb allowance, only to find its damned useless. It either causes the phone to hang, needing a reboot, or simply won't run at all. "Uninstall" button might well come in handy....? Back to GMaps I think.
