Date/Time Problems

Hi

Whenever I boot up my SPV I have to set my date and time all over again, it just changes them to a certain time and date whenever I turn it off (I can't remember what, but always the same). Does anyone else have this problem? Surely you're not meant to set the time every time you turn it off.

When you switch the phone off, are you switching it off properly? i.e. Allowing it to shut itself down via the power button.

If so, call Orange or try a hard reset.

I have the same problem as yours and a hard reset worked for a few days and I got the same problem again. I think I'll call Orange to get a new phone.

I guess the battery that holds the date/time information is low, similar to the ones you get on PC motherboards. If you take your battery out and look at the bottom, you can see one of these batteries under the plastic, although I'm not 100% sure this is a battery that stores the time.

I don't know if it'll work, but when batteries on PC motherboards start getting low, usually leaving the PC on for a while recharges it somehow. Perhaps you could leave your SPV on for a few days and see if the problem goes away.

After having said that though, I think you should get a replacement from Orange.

I can't send it back to Orange because I live in Aus but I'll try some of the other suggestions and hopefully one of them works
