Can you use a WMA or WAV - if so where do you put them? I know you can for ring tones but not sure about alarm sounds

I did have a look around for where the default sounds are stored, and the answer is that they are stored as .wav files, in the main windows directory. I tried copying an mp3 in there, but no dice, not picked up. I suggest copying a .wav in there and seeing if you can then set that.

.wav files are picked up - imported some South Park sounds I had on the PC! :D Only thing is, when email or text message comes in, what Cartman or Kyle has to say sometimes isnt very pleasant for an open plan office! :)

LOL! :P

My friend who has the O2 equivelant of the MDA Vario (XDA sumething-or-other) had a large chunk of "Uncle Fucker" as an alarm, when he wasn't looking I nabbed his phone and set it as his ringtone and SMS tone. I then called him whilst he was in a lecture. :( :D

Was initially gonna say that the events and notification sounds are in the Windows folder, ut someone beat me to it. I know .WAVs work but not sure on .WMAs.

Also, if you want to change the default beep, low battery sounds etc, just mount and unlock the ROM.

Update:

Alarms and Notifications can only use .WAV files.

* The exception to this being that Spb Time allows you to use .MP3s as alarms.

My Hermes never wakesfrom sleep mode to play any Alarm when using Spb Time even when "Wakeup Tweak is enabled" has anyone else had this problem and managed to resolve it apart from this very crude method i found - which is to ensure that the External Power lead is plugged in and device is Awake, using this method the alarms sounds in time for Work!

Otherwise i wake late for train, manually wake device to see what time it is and then the bleeding thing goes off....GREAT!!

Assuming your Hermes works the same way as my Wizard, If you let the screen die on it's own, rather than hitting the power key to turn off the screen, the alarm will work fine

I dont think that mine does behave like that....

Anyone find that even though the built in alarms are available in settings... when you click on them nothing happens...i did install spb time although it is deinstalled now
