hermes calendar default view setting of a month

On my hermes, the default view of the calendar is to take it to a months viewing, which in my mind is quite annoying... Is there any way I am able to change the default setting, i.e. when I click on the calendar button which is assigned to one of the softkeys to open on the day setting rather than the month setting?
