SP5 with strange behaviour

Hi

I just got myself an sp5 as i got bored of my old C550. I have now noticed that it won't display the battery's satus correctly, if it has a full battery it displays correctly, but when the battery level goes down the display doesn't change, so i hav no idea how much is left. if i take the battery out and reboot, it thinks its being charged. Also if the phone is switched off the battey status LED is on, either green or orange. i hav done a hard reset but to no avail. Can anybody help?

If a hard reset didn't help then its either a bug in your ROM or the battery is shagged. The battery indicator normall goes down in 20% steps, so 4 bars = 100-80%, 3 bars=80-60%, 2 bars=60-40%, 1 bar 40-20% Exclamation mark=20-10%, exclamation mark with red status LED 10-0%. Having said that it takes a while for the battery idicator to 'warm up' when you boot the phone (normally 10-20 seconds after you get to the homescreen) However my first question is: Did you buy it second hand?

Thanks for the welcome. I thought it may be the battery, so i tried my C550's battery in it as they are the same spec, but no difference. And yes i did buy it second hand, lol, possibly not the best idea! :)

Does this mean i will have to flash a new rom to my phone? If so does anyone know where i can get a new rom, as i dont want to have to pay $59.99 to join club i-mate if they don't hav rom's or if i can get one somewhere else.
