Guest dr_nick Posted December 5, 2006 Report Posted December 5, 2006 hi guys! my problem with sudden and unexplained failure to sync over usb should finally be resolved tomorrow with a replacement phone on orangecare (protracted and multilevel data services help getting me to do everything i've already done first - isn't it annoying you also have to pay an administrative fee?!). But this leaves me with another problem - how do i back up the device to the sd card, bearing in mind i cannot connect to the computer to download new programs even? i need to keep (in order of importance): - recent changes to calender not synced in the past three weeks - recent contacts added - ?changes to rom (a2dp tweak and gps control panel enablement) (can't remember how i did them now - omap and battery status today plugin - sms/mms messages - installed programs:( (mostly remnants from uninstalled demos) i have had a play, but cannot find anyway of backing up to sd card built in to orange rom. (other than perhaps beaming each appointment or contact as a vcard to another device (which i don't have) please help me - they deliver the new phone tomorrow between 1 and 5pm thanks again dr_nick
Guest Confucious Posted December 5, 2006 Report Posted December 5, 2006 Have you tried Sprite backup? Should be able to do all that I believe (except probably rom changes). It's free to Plus members as well.
Guest Disco Stu Posted December 5, 2006 Report Posted December 5, 2006 Some software stores offer over-the-air installation. You get the cab file delivered via GPRS. As Confucious says, you need something like Sprite Backup - here Do Spb do one as well ? Yes, they do ! If you have a card reader you can load the cabs on to there and run them after replacing in your phone.
Guest dr_nick Posted December 6, 2006 Report Posted December 6, 2006 thanks guys - forgot all about just downloading a cab onto my storage card, then pluggin it into the phone!! i now have spb backup and it is running as i type... thanks again
