Time and date reset when turned off

Hi

My phone (htc, qtek 8310, vodafone 1240) resets the time and date when ever it's timed off. Also, the reason I've had to turn it off has been because i've not been able to activate the bluetooth, as it's not been able to save the settings.

Any advice with these problem would be greatly recieved.

the internal battery has died if under warrenty send it back
