Guest nedge2k Posted December 7, 2006 Report Posted December 7, 2006 [teaser] So the other day the missus and I were watching a bit of TV and she commented on how she liked the look of the LG Chocolate range of phones. I said something to the effect of "yeah, it's a shame they don't move into the WM scene". Lo and behold, what turns up on the interweb not long after said conversation but this, LG's KC1 WM powered PPC phone! :) Specs for this, so far Korea-only, device are as follows:[/teaser]Windows Mobile 5.0 for PPC2.8" QVGA Touch ScreenWiMax2MP CameramicroSD SlotEVDONote also what looks to be a forward facing video calling and a scroll wheel :D via [Slashphone]
Guest nausea Posted December 8, 2006 Report Posted December 8, 2006 That thing looks pretty big for a phone without a qwerty keyboard. Maybe its just me :)
Guest daedalia Posted December 8, 2006 Report Posted December 8, 2006 The guy holding it's just got really small hands. :)

Guest Confucious Posted December 8, 2006 Report Posted December 8, 2006 (edited) What's EVDO? - OK just found http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EVDO A PPC with a normal phone keyboard? looks good. Is it 3G? HSDPA? Does this mean it won't be released in the UK? Edited December 8, 2006 by Confucious
Guest The Doctor Posted December 9, 2006 Report Posted December 9, 2006 What's EVDO? - OK just found http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EVDO A PPC with a normal phone keyboard? looks good. Is it 3G? HSDPA? Does this mean it won't be released in the UK? It won't be available here unless LG produce a GSM version of it. The version shown here is CDMA, a different standard to the GSM we use here. And unfortunately CDMA is not interoperable with GSM. EVDO (along with W-CDMA) is the CDMA equivilent of UMTS (ie 3G) Phil
Guest Monolithix (MVP) Posted December 11, 2006 Report Posted December 11, 2006 Faster than 3G too, but slower than HSDPA :)
Guest The Doctor Posted December 12, 2006 Report Posted December 12, 2006 Faster than 3G too, but slower than HSDPA :) Because CMDA just HAS to be difficult like that :D Why oh why can't everybody work to the same rule book? Phil
