Guest Michu Posted December 8, 2006 Report Posted December 8, 2006 (edited) Heya I'm new here in this forum ^^ and sadly not an owner of any SmarPhone yet. However, I try to collect all emulators for PocketPC and now want to give the same service to the SmartPhone Community, too. The first version of my SP-Emus Page can be viewed here: SmartPhone Emulators However, I can not check if those emus work or rate them, neither can I say which PPC Emus can be run on SmartPhones, too. It's also very hard to collect them since they are often pretty "hidden" in all those forums (not only here)... well it wasn't as bad as with the PPC emus but perhabs you know what I mean ^^, So mabye some of you can help me to add more emus and perhabs give a rating. If there are no problems with it, I'll soon officially link it to my page. Greetings and thx for the interest Edited December 8, 2006 by Michu

Guest Michu Posted December 8, 2006 Report Posted December 8, 2006 (edited) Ah well masterall once posted it here in the forum http://www.modaco.com/index.php?showtopic=...vance&st=20 but seems to be pretty slow, too. Quoting Masterall: "The pocketgbadvance is actually a preview version, it only can play some games and set keys. I'm trying to do some speed optimizing now." Also to all: tgetfile.dll is needed! Guest Zeiram Posted December 8, 2006 Report Posted December 8, 2006 I dont like "collections" like this, listing them is fine, but instead of hosting them you should like them to their proper sites. Masteralls Emulators to his own post here on MoDaCo for example, so people download it directly and Coders really see their work apreciated. Since you dont own a Smartphone yourself you wont be able to help if any questions come up, but people in here and masterall himself might be able to help. No offence taken, but hosting them somewhere else instead is kinda taking needed interest from the original topic in my opinion. You have the homepage added on yer list as well, but alot of people wont follow them. They just take what they need of your page and leave and later they wonder why they cant find support for the emulator they got.
Guest Michu Posted December 8, 2006 Report Posted December 8, 2006 (edited) Zeiram (:) schon klar), I do this not for any fame but to give the user the service that developers can't, a place where everything comes together (as ordered as I can). Of course I link to the developer as often as possible (sometimes it works pretty good, sometimes not, but "I'm not a forum" or the like, just a collector, the questions won't go to me or if so, I'll forward them to the devs). Everyone should be able to find support somehow but it's a lot easier then finding the emus that way ^^ Lists have been done but they soon were full of dead links, mine will never die for sure, I can have up to 3 hosts if not more. Keep in mind that many emulators are in fact not even supported or hosted anymore so my page is the best source for oldies and I do not divide between hostless or host-having emulators since I don't want others to go to the "search hell" I went through while collecting all those (the PPC emus took me weeks and still is what I check every day; no one ever ordered them in this "perfection" not even the lists were able to do so. Many emulators never got the tribute they deserved cause of that since they were simply NOT FOUND and then died but through my page, I can do my part to make these devs and their work known). And maybe I'll get a SmartPhone very soon =)) To make this clear again, I do not take any credit for the emus but the more popular the site, the bigger is the chance that the devs work directly with me, too so we could build up a network that's ordered and yet serving everyone in his/her needs (either download or support).
