Guest mordzy Posted December 8, 2006 Report Posted December 8, 2006 OK, appologies if this is a dumb question... what phones can i use on the 3g network three? im not fussed for video calls so d i just need a 3g phone? umm any reccomendations?
Guest chucky.egg Posted December 8, 2006 Report Posted December 8, 2006 Dont even need a 3G phone O2 are their 2.5G provider IIRC, so any phone that will work on O2 should work on 3. Basically get any Smartphone/PPC, get it unlocked for use on any network and you're away. Having said that I have a vague feeling there's some issue with 3G SIMs... I don't know what the issue is though
Guest mordzy Posted December 8, 2006 Report Posted December 8, 2006 (edited) Having said that I have a vague feeling there's some issue with 3G SIMs... I don't know what the issue is though yeh i have read that. i have a brand new i mate sp5 i cant use - 'SIM rejected' i posted on here and people said the sim is different in some way, so i need to know what phone will accept it. would the sammy BlackJack i607 work? hmmmm - i emailed Expansys to check "Unfortunately there are no PDA’s that you can use with a ‘3’ sim card as ‘3’ lock their sims to only phones that are supplied by themselves," is this the case? Guest mordzy Posted December 11, 2006 Report Posted December 11, 2006 anyone any further details or info.? or am i just doomed with Three?
Guest awarner (MVP) Posted December 11, 2006 Report Posted December 11, 2006 As I do not have a three account or the latest devices I can not really advise but I can add that 3 do block devices that are only 2G from working on their network. They do this because they only make money on their own network and not when they borrow O2's. Some devices have been known to work for a time but they soon appear to block them. The only suggestion is to ask 3 directly as to what Smartphones they do support.
