Image behind Contacts Screen

Theoretically it should be easy to put any image behind the Contacts screen right? This is the one you first get when you press the Contacts soft key from the home page.

I am developing a theme which happily puts custom images behind screens for Start Menu, Information, Question, etc ... but stubbornly refuses to put anything behind the Contacts screen. Even under the simplest themes like Windows Default, etc, no matter what image is referred there, it just puts up a plain background.

I've been modifying HKLM...:MSCONTACTS using BKBitmapFile and have tried various other settings copied from :MSStart or around this forum (including BKDefaultGradient, BKFlags, etc) but they are all ignored.

What would stop an image being specified by :MSCONTACTS>BKBitmapFile? :)
