Large Contacts Folder, Slooow Lookup

I had contacts on my smart phone, and then I decided to sync with outlook. Well, that turned out to be a mistake, because my outlook has 3,000+ contacts. It now takes 2-3minutes to look up a phone number. Is there anyway that I can "undo" the sync, and restore the address book just to the contacts before the syncing of 3000+?
