Guest Seraphic Posted December 11, 2006 Report Posted December 11, 2006 Hi guys, I didn't really know the best place to ask this, because even though there's a smartphone games forum I'm asking specifically about Pocket PC. Mods feel free to move if you deem it so :-) What are the best games available for the Pocket PC? I'm due to take delivery of an SPV M3100 today or tomorrow, so I'll want to put some decent games onto it. I know Toki Tori is a decent game and played it on my C600, so I may buy that. What are the best emulators? Do any games allow the use of the slide-out keyboard? What about Doom for example? Any advice you can give would be greatly appreciated.

Depends on your taste in gaming... The Myst port works pretty well if you're into classic puzzle/adventures. SPBAirislands is worth buying for the three mini games even if the main game is only okay. PMG2 is a good mini-golf game Richard Edited December 11, 2006 by richard_d
Guest awarner (MVP) Posted December 11, 2006 Report Posted December 11, 2006 Anything recently released by Astraware is a good start they have released some cracking titles over the last few years just make sure they are WM5 compatable. Another place to look is the MoDaCo Fair Deal software store as there are some good prices for the software and the developer also gets more in return.
Guest Confused Stu Posted December 11, 2006 Report Posted December 11, 2006 How on earth have we had two replies and nobody has mentioned WORMS yet?!? Do you people have no souls?!?!?! Ahem..... I think that translates as "Worms can be quite a pleasant way to pass the time" :)
Guest Seraphic Posted December 12, 2006 Report Posted December 12, 2006 Thanks for the replies guys. I've bought PMG2 after playing the demo (awesome game) and I'm looking into buying Worms once I try it also - really enjoyed WWP on the PC. Just hope my microsd card turns up today else i'll be running out of space. It'd also be nice if Orange UK could sort out my phone number - migrated from Orange payg to contract and I've been waiting ever since to have my number re-enabled on my contract sim (even though they've quite happily chopped my payg sim). Thanks again :-)
Guest daedalia Posted December 13, 2006 Report Posted December 13, 2006 (edited) Quake (Free-ish), UFO Enemy Unknown(Free), Tomb Raider(No Free), Sky Force (vertical shooter) Edited December 13, 2006 by daedalia
Guest Paul (MVP) Posted December 13, 2006 Report Posted December 13, 2006 Another vote for Pocket Mini Golf by Momentum Games, love Astraware Zuma and Bejewelled too :) Worms World Party is a classic... P
Guest VulakAerr Posted December 19, 2006 Report Posted December 19, 2006 Broken Sword, ported by Astraware is also a great time-filler. A classic which runs very nicely on PPC. :)
Guest balzer1 Posted December 20, 2006 Report Posted December 20, 2006 If you like adventure games you must download SCUMMVM. Those old LucasArts games were(are) the best.
Guest Seraphic Posted December 20, 2006 Report Posted December 20, 2006 Any way to get scummvm working correctly in landscape mode? whenever I use it, the mouse/stylus is completely in the wrong place when tapping the screen.
Guest Driekus Posted December 22, 2006 Report Posted December 22, 2006 Excellent freeware race game (Carmageddon style): Death Drive (not sure how it runs on a M3100 though...) Nice RPG's: Arvale series from http://www.pdamill.com/
Guest samiouanes Posted December 23, 2006 Report Posted December 23, 2006 Tetraedge have many excellent games. SCUMMVM is a must-have for those who like adventure games. If you like word games, you ought to check out Guess It! (which is a new title)
Guest balzer1 Posted December 24, 2006 Report Posted December 24, 2006 Any way to get scummvm working correctly in landscape mode? whenever I use it, the mouse/stylus is completely in the wrong place when tapping the screen. Did you tap on the little monkey on the bottom of the screen to change orientation? If you try to manually change screen orientation you may get these alignment problems.
Guest Seraphic Posted December 24, 2006 Report Posted December 24, 2006 Right you are - scummvm is now officially awesome :)
