M3100 Activesync

HI,

This is my first post.

I have just got my new SPV M3100 and I have a few issues:

1. Activesync won't work! it used to work and I have tried it on 2 pc's it will sync with my exchange server just not my pc.

2. I need to have an application unlock program as Orange don't seem to won't to help with that.

Any help would be great

1) Have you set it to sync with both the server and the pc? Will it sync with the server whilst connected to the pc by USB?

2) Email [email protected] and ask for an unlock app. They will need your imei.

Thanks for the replies with regards to Activesync I did a hard reset on the SPV and that sorted it

and I have e-mailed orange and they will get back to me within 1 week.

Once the phone is application unlocked does that mine I can have my own backgrounds?

Found this on another forum :-

"To app unlock it, use a registry editor to set the following registry keys (these are decimal values, use 1 and 40 if you're inputing them in hex):

HKLM\Security\Policies\Policies\00001001 = 1

HKLM\Security\Policies\Policies\00001005 = 64

"

I have no idea if this works as I have a VarioII which is app unlocked as standard.

I would use Resco Explorer to change the registry and then soft-rest and see if you can install programs etc.

Take a full backup with SPB Backup or Sprite before you do anything and copy to your PC just in case you have to hard-reset the device.

I just had an e-mail from orange and they sent me a file that allows me to turn off security i.e. application lock.

But I still don't seem able to change the today screen backgrounds

As long as you a) select a different theme and :) unselect the orange plug in from the items list, you can have whatever you want.
