Guest awarner (MVP) Posted December 12, 2006 Report Posted December 12, 2006 Yep and unfortunately you are now the proud owner of a dodgy copy of TomTom. TomTom's user licence (which you agree to when you buy and use the software) states that the software is non transferable.

Guest awarner (MVP) Posted December 12, 2006 Report Posted December 12, 2006 Users, but between devices you then have to apply for a new registration code, so if you ever changed devices it is highly unlikely TomTom would give you a code but chances are you may have a cracked version rather than just someone's older version they do not want any more.

Fair Do's...i know nothing about TomTom on the whole with regards to licensing etc all i know is when i bought it it come bundled with TomTom pre installed on the memory card but noGPS external recievery thingy. However i also have not been asked to register it, nither have i been syupplied with an installation/opperation CD. So in short i (probably)have a dogey copy of TomTom bundled with my new phone and no reciever so it wont work any hu...?
Guest awarner (MVP) Posted December 13, 2006 Report Posted December 13, 2006 It will work but you still need a GPS unit. You would not have a cd as TomTom 5 Mobile only came on SD card. Ask the seller for the licence number and original SD card because if you ever do a hard reset you would then have to look at buying TomTom and as they are not updating it at the moment finding someone who actually sells the now old version is very hard.
