Guest Seraphic Posted December 14, 2006 Report Posted December 14, 2006 Hi guys, After getting a bit pee'd off with the busy tone playing loud over the speaker whenever you try to ring someone who is already on a call, I started looking around in the registry and found the key to disable it: HKEY_CURRENT_USER/ControlPanel/Sounds/BusyTone Change the Script entry so that theres nothing in there. That'll at least stop the annoying noise!
Guest touficjohn Posted December 17, 2006 Report Posted December 17, 2006 It removes it from playing on the speakerphone or it removes it completely?
Guest Seraphic Posted December 17, 2006 Report Posted December 17, 2006 It removes it from playing on the speakerphone or it removes it completely? Unfortunately it removes it from playing completely - you could change the .wav entry to point to a lower-volume sound however.
Guest siu99spj Posted December 18, 2006 Report Posted December 18, 2006 Quick OT query, what is and where is a suitable registry editor for the Hermes?
Guest Seraphic Posted December 18, 2006 Report Posted December 18, 2006 I use PHM, which can be found for free here: http://www.phm.lu/Products/PocketPC/RegEdit/
Guest siu99spj Posted December 18, 2006 Report Posted December 18, 2006 (edited) Thanks Seraphic, time to destroy that blasted busy tone! (If you can't guess, it kinda annoyed/deafened me!) Edited December 18, 2006 by siu99spj
Guest Seraphic Posted December 18, 2006 Report Posted December 18, 2006 Yup, one of the most annoying things about the phone.
Guest Teo2005 Posted December 28, 2006 Report Posted December 28, 2006 I think it can be done pretty easy: 1 - extract file busy.wav from Windows\ folder 2 - with some WAV editting software (GoldWave, CoolEdit etc.) modify the Amplitude to 30% or smth. Envelope, Normalization tools should do the job) 3 - copy the file back in \Windows folder (if it says that you can't, then copy under the name Busy2.wav and modify the HKCU\ControlPanel\Sounds\Busy key accordingly. I didn't do it because it doesn't bother me (so far) but it has to work.
