Guest Paul (MVP) Posted December 14, 2006 Report Posted December 14, 2006 I'd like to be able to attached co-ordinates to Twitter posts... so at least people my entries from the web could click through to, say, Google Maps of my location when I posted an item. That'd be neat... with more and more devices coming with positioning hardware, and a likely increase in dedicated clients like Twit! :) P
Guest nickcornaglia Posted December 15, 2006 Report Posted December 15, 2006 Dont forget the text limitation though. If it were lat/lon you were after, you'd lose at least 12-20 characters out of your available message space.
Guest Paul (MVP) Posted December 15, 2006 Report Posted December 15, 2006 Yeah, I was kinda assuming it'd only be used from twitter clients like twit, rather than SMS. P
Guest Xavier Posted April 7, 2007 Report Posted April 7, 2007 isn't that still subject to the same message size limit? How about defining locations you're frequently at (and don't mind disclosing) and having shortcodes for each, so when you're at one of those it's only a character or two extra passed in? Also won't tip the missus off that you're buying her b'day present the day before ;)
Guest Paul (MVP) Posted April 8, 2007 Report Posted April 8, 2007 A lat long with half decent accuracy doesn't take up much space ;) P
Guest nickcornaglia Posted April 23, 2007 Report Posted April 23, 2007 how about tinyurl links to a google map instead?
