Guest Ramsfan_Jim Posted December 15, 2006 Report Posted December 15, 2006 Can anyone recommend a Sat Nav system for an MDA Vario II (with a GPS receiver)? Ideally I want to be able to get Camera & traffic alerts as well - so a phone based Sat Nav seems most logical. I've seen Tomtom Navigator 6 recommended in various articles, but it's not listed on the Tomtom site as compatible - presumably because its not yet available on Micro-SD card. Tomtom have asserted to me that they do not support it on any platforms other than those listed. Has anyone got Tomtom 6 on their Vario II? (I assume by copying from the mini-SD card to your Micro-SD first) Any problems? Is it possible to get subscription services from Tomtom (e.g. Cameras & Traffic) on an unsupported device? Can anyone suggest any alternative Sat Nav systems instead? Cheers, Jim.
Guest awarner (MVP) Posted December 15, 2006 Report Posted December 15, 2006 TomTom always say if it's not on the list it's not supported, this way they can use it as a escape claus for any issues. TomTom will work but there are other options like CoPilot and I-go TomTom are the most user friendly without question but all depends on your budget, CoPilot are cheaper for travel announcements it's a shame you did not get iut at the time you bought the vario II as you would have got two years free traffic announcements.

Well I took the gamble and went for TomTom Navigator 6 - and it works perfectly (as far as I can see). I just copied all the software on the Micro-Sd card and it installed with no problems. Recommended. cheers! Jim.
