Guest russters Posted December 15, 2006 Report Posted December 15, 2006 Hi My spv M3100 stopped working this morning and after much bodging eventually decided to do a full reset (hold the two function buttons and push reset) but during the customization part the phone showed an error on screen something about extended rom and although the phone is now working I no longer have 3G ability and some of the other orange items/customizations are not available can anyone help I dent think i can call orange as i used the unlocker and messed around with settings and stuff
Guest BenPye Posted December 15, 2006 Report Posted December 15, 2006 You could simply try another Hard reset to see what happenes and note the exact error, if it happens again! Otherwise unlock EXT ROM Again (if needed) and possibly manually run the contents of it in the correct order (there should be text rile called CONFIG.txt in EXT ROM that will tell you the order to run the CAB's in) this should enable to determine if there any missing or corrupted CAB's! Good Luck! You may also be able to get teh Contents of EXT Rom from another m3100 owner via Strorage Card, or from xda-developers
Guest Teo2005 Posted December 29, 2006 Report Posted December 29, 2006 Some of the Extended ROMS are checking IMEI to see if the phone was sold by the company that made that ROM. I have also an M3100 from Orange and I flashed with Imate firmware; during the customisation, an error prevented some apps from Extended ROM to be installed, so I had to unhide and unlock Extended ROM, copied everything from that folder on storage card and deleted the Extended_ROM folder. After a hard reset, I tried the cabs and two or three wouldn't install due to IMEI mismatch, but I managed to install the rest of them :)
