A fix for the 'phantom SMS' problems ...

Found this piece of advice floating around on the net ... and it works ..

My original complaint about phantom SMS is at

http://www.modaco.com/viewtopic.php?t=1488

The answer to the problem is to locate the file named cemail.vol in the IPSM folder and rename it, then shut down. Upon restarting the phone, a new cemail.vol file will be created. Then delete the renamed file and the count returned to zero.

Hope this helps anyone else in the same situation ....

I had this problem last night and I carried out the above fix - it worked fine.

I have had my SPV for three weeks now, and this was the first problem I have had with it.

I've had this problem for a few weeks......It is now fixed!

Hurrah!

...this is great workaround. However, it removes all the e-mails and, more importantly, your SMS messages from the Inbox. Any clever ideas as to how to store these files elsewhere and bring them back after doing the fix?

Much appreciated fellas!
