wifi encryption kills the battery

I use MAC address filtering at home on my router and typically get about 3 hours of streaming radio from a full charge.

Round a friend's house who was using WPA-PSK & TKIP i got less than an hour

Round a friend's house who was using WPA-PSK & TKIP i got less than an hour

Probably due to the CPU processing needed for the WPA-PSK. With mac filtering no 'extra' cpu power is needed tfor encrpytion.
