Guest zabeel Posted December 18, 2006 Report Posted December 18, 2006 hi all im having problems sending emails on my vario 2. ive set the outgoing smtp server to smtp.t-email.co.uk and its still giving me the cannot send email error. is there something thats screwed up this use to work fine about a month ago and suddenly stopped working ive not set authentication or anything thanks in advance
Guest Ramsfan_Jim Posted December 18, 2006 Report Posted December 18, 2006 Yes, I've been having the same problem. I'm reliably informed that T-Mobile support are looking into the issue for me. I had this problem about a month ago, then miraculously when Support called it started working again (they claimed they didn't do anything). Worked fine for a few weeks, then stopped again last week so I raised another support call. I have tried various suggestions from T-Mobile Support (including re-setting up my account) but it made no difference. I can receive emails fine, but not send. Then on Saturday it started working again (briefly) but stopped again on Sunday. Personally I think it's either a server issue (as I have not changed any settings) OR they keep resetting my account (possibly automatically). One Support call indicated that settings had been changed on my T-Mobile account due to compatibility issues so they re-set them again. I'll let you know when I get a call back. Glad to hear I'm not the only one having the issue. Jim.

Guest Ramsfan_Jim Posted December 19, 2006 Report Posted December 19, 2006 ah glad to here someone else having same problem guess il have to ring support as well see if they need to reset my account its frustating. :) They actually called yesterday evening to say they have identified a fault on the T-Mobile servers (SMTP.t-email.co.uk), which they are currently investigating. Comforting that they seem to have admitted there is a problem and are looking to fix it.... Jim.

Guest Ramsfan_Jim Posted December 21, 2006 Report Posted December 21, 2006 oh wicked thats good news and nice of em to admit there is a problem do you use any kind of smtp switcher for sending mails over wifi ? Nope - is that possible? I mainly use Wi-fi at home, so if I need to send a mail I just use the home PC at present - or send from the Vario II via T-mobile. Is there a way to automatically switch the SMTP address? Jim.
Guest wobwill Posted December 21, 2006 Report Posted December 21, 2006 Does anyone know more about this issue? I am running a T-Mobile Compact 2 (HTC CHarmer) and found to day that I could not send Emails and have spent several work hours ( :) ) trying to work out why. Will
