Guest JimDerDog Posted December 19, 2006 Report Posted December 19, 2006 EEEEK - phone was playing up for a few days recently - not syncing properly - it woudl connect, look like it was about to sync then drop the connection. Previosuly I had got around this by unplugging and replugging the usb cable and eventually it would normally connect and stay connected. Yesterday - major trauma. Noticed that not only is it not syncing, it is not now charging either. I didnt notice until yesterday when it started beeping at me that it was dying. Today - completely dead. Tried with mains charger - pciked it up adn charged for a few seconds then dropped it. Seems that the problem is at the phone end not the pc end, but phone is now dead adn wont charge. Any suggestions (apart from jumping on the blasted thing)? Having to use nasty little nokia thing in the meantime - please save me!

If you cock up when flashing it bricks the phone, and i believe that the charging is one of the things it doesnt do. So, if you find a friend with the same phone, you could either borrow their fully charged battery or get them to charge yours in their phone, then try a reflash. Not sure if that will sort it but it's worth a try i guess. Of course it could mean that the port is buggered, in which case you aint really got much you can do apart from maybe sending it back if you're covered under warranty still
