No mic input

Hey guys,

This forum is a really good resource i've geen browsing it for a while now. However I could really do with your help. I bought a generic wired head set for the car the otherday just some belkin one that should fit all as the numerous wires of the standard set take too long to untangle. Anyway it seems i tried to use the wrong connector with 2 stripes first but now i have no mic coming trough even with the standard set. I'm tinking this may have shorted the mic connector, both headphone lines still work fine. Has anybody got any ideas on of it can be fixed of if it is just a software issue?

have you tried the obvious dreaded hrd reset if its softwre this will probably fix it but you could try cleaning the jack (and if you can the socket use cotton balls with vodka) then placing it in and eeing if that helps
