The Ubiquio 401.

I've gone through quite a few pieces lately, from Kjam to JasJam, to Excalibur, to E61, to loox, (and probably one or two more) and finaly, I bought a obiquio 401 and immediaely sent it back...that thing wouldn't even hard reset...it's slower (with no aps running) than my excalibur with 10 things running. This is the first time I actually sent a phone back...usually, I think that I made my bed and now I must sleep in it, but I'm not the one that put the nails there, so why should I deal with the pain in the back (I might have taken this metaphor a little too far :) )

Anyway, I'm now waiting for the HP 6915..at least HP have been around for longer and know what they are doing.

I write this because as a phone enthususiat, I always look forward to getting that new phone...take it out of the box, put in the battery, plug the charger in, and observe which lights light up to indicate that it's charging...then , while inspecting the content of the box, mentally preparing what applications I'll put on it this time...should I stick with this pim, or go with anoter one this time? Wondering what the MODACO crowd have to say about this and that...there wasn't much info on the ubiquio, so i decided to take a chance...FLOP...

Excuse the rant, but I don't wish this kind (or any other kind) of dissapointment on anyone...

great concept but poorly designed for its purpose! where do i start...terrible battery life, god awful buggy software etc etc!

you'll be happy with the hp..superb piece of kit!

I'm getting a feeling there may well be more satisfied HW6915 uses/owners than we think.

Why is it hp makes a smartphone but no ppc phones?

I guess you know you've got that the wrong way round......HP do ppc phones, and in the case of the HW6915 they've done it very well........I'm not aware they do a smartphone.

The HP 6915 is by far the best ppc phone I've ever used...I'm waiting a couple more days for everything to settle in, and then I'm gonna attempt my first review...including what softs I have on there etc...but like you guys said, its a great phone...

I would like to defend the Ubiquio 401, I have had mine for a while now & I love it. It's not slow, I guess yours was faulty Samawil. I agree with the poor battery life, but it does get better. Not noticed any bugs yet either. And it is cheap!!

I think that the ubi means well...it's trying to make it in a vast ocean of other devices that are simply superior in almost all aspects (except for price)...but for 2 days now I've been feeling sorry for the ubi (and all other wm5 phones)...ever since Stevy J gave his keynotes at macworld...iphones (or whatever they end up calling them because of the lawsuit with cisco) are going to be da shiznit

Not sure that the iPhone (or whatever it will be called) will offer anything that wm5 doesn't already offer! Apart from a HD which we will see in MS phones soon. The incompatibility of the apple product with MS, the high price and lack of availability - only on 1 carrier in the US not in EU until Q4 - together with lack of 3G or even Edge and the probability that the battery life will not be "very good" mean that it is unlikely to provide serious competition to WM5/6 IMHO
