Guest anotherUser Posted December 22, 2006 Report Posted December 22, 2006 (edited) Hi, On the Pocket PC phone, there is audio coming from the main speaker and audio coming from the earpiece. There's also the mic you speak into, and that's another audio path. When you use a BT device like a BT handsfree, the audio gets routed to the BT device. I would like to understand exactly which audio signal gets re-routed where. For example, my Jabra BT 250 reroutes the earpiece audio but the main audio (audio for the main speaker) is unaffected. It also reroutes the mic. Then, there are stereo devices that I assume reroute the main audio signal. Apparently, there are those that have mics as well. I would like to know what are the different types of such devices, the terminology for each type and what it reroutes. (Different profiles?) Or is the reality messier than that so that there is no such terminology to distinguish? Also, is there a small non-stereo device similar in size to a BT handsfree that reroutes everything? This will be useful for Skype on devices where Skype doesn't know how to play sounds through the earpiece. If the answer is yes, is it possible on the devices to selectively disable the rerouting of the earpiece audio or the main audio? Also, what if I want both the BT device and the phone to play the main audio? Is that possible? This will be useful for making ringing more obvious. Thanks. Edited December 22, 2006 by anotherUser
