Guest stevem314 Posted December 22, 2006 Report Posted December 22, 2006 Hey all, Been browsing the site for awhile customizing my smartphone 2125. Lots of good advise and tips :) Possibly as a result of my tweaking the phone, my volume control buttons are no longer working- I get the feeling it is software related. So I am wondering if anyone knows where the configuration settings and application involved in the volume control are located so I can check them. When I push the volume up or down buttons the volume applet doesn't appear and the volume doesn't seem to adjust (as far as I can tell). Actually I just noticed that there is a subtle flicker of the Start Menu logo when I push either of the buttons. Hope someone can help! Thanks in advance all! -SteveM

I checked in the registry and found the background linking to a non-existant theme file. Also saw a number of others like Exclamationbox, QuestionBox, etc.. The Home_Restore.cab was convenient! As a follow-up, my incoming call screen is not appearing correctly. I am guessing it is a similar problem. I will hunt around the forum and the registry and see if I can dig anything up :D Thanks again! This is a very friendly and helpful forum- keep it up! -SteveM

I couldn't find a call.gif or similar in my Windows folder so since I didn't know what the original background screen was supposed to be I just tried wiping out the BKBitmapFile entry. That didn't seem to work so I put the key back in and pointed it to yell.gif (my exclamationbox background). That seems to have done the trick! Oddly enough the background doesn't appear anyway.. it is just a white screen with black text. Cheers, -SteveM -SteveM
