Guest anth2516 Posted December 22, 2006 Report Posted December 22, 2006 Hello. I've been a windows mobile aficionado for a while, and am in the lookout for a new windows mobile phone. Am not bothered whether its a smartphone or a pocket pc, but the main criteria for me is the quality of the music the phone can play, and if the phone has wifi in that order. Can you guys suggest which is the best phone/pocket pc out there whose music capabilities (in terms of quality of the sound) are comparable to those of SE walkman phones. Thanks.
Guest awarner (MVP) Posted December 23, 2006 Report Posted December 23, 2006 I've never had a walkman phone so can not compare but some things need to be asked, What network are you thinking of joining if any? What country are you in? What is your budget? Most devices can be greatly improved by just changing the headphones as the ones that usually come with the device are not the best quality or fit.
Guest anth2516 Posted December 23, 2006 Report Posted December 23, 2006 Awarner, Thanks for the reply. I live in the UK, and do not have a preference towards any network. O2, Tmobile, Orange .. anything is fine. Am looking to get a contract, and dont mind paying £40-£50 pm, if the phone is free. I absolutely agree with you regarding the headphones, and I have been able to compare the quality of music from SPV c500, C600, SE W800i and Nokia N80 with Sennheiser CX300-B earbuds, which are a decent make I believe, and using the proper adapters for each phone. I'm no audiophile, but it was quite obvious that SE W800i was the best among the lot with N80 very close behind. Both the SPV models really paled in comparison. I really want to make sure that my next windows mobile does a good job of playing music, and hence am asking peoples opinion here.
Guest awarner (MVP) Posted December 23, 2006 Report Posted December 23, 2006 Samsung released the i300 but it only appeared for a short while. Battery life was not the best but it did come with a spare battery and a 3GB hard drive. I have never heard the sound from this phone myself so I can not say how good it is.
Guest Posted December 23, 2006 Report Posted December 23, 2006 I don't have a bluetooth stereo headset but if you know someone who does you should have a listen. Most of the latest SPs and PPCs support stereo sound over BT. Also, its very easy to get a 2.5mm to 3.5mm adapter but some SPs dont have the standard 2.5mm jack (startrk for eg) so you may find it hard to get an adapter to use standard headphones with that phone. good luck gr
