Guest Vang Posted December 26, 2006 Report Posted December 26, 2006 Hello everybody :) Recently got a new Qtec 8200 which I'm quite happy with, however, the supplied headset clearly sucks. So, the first question is - what other headsets are compatible with it? Here in Lithuania we don't have a good assortment of those - all I've seen were Sony Ericsson, Nokia, Motorola and that's just about it.. I could even live with decent headphones, without the mic and stuff - would I-Pod, Walkman or any others work? And secondly, I strongly dislike the default media player, for it makes russian letters look like some Chinese stuff which quite certainly is unreadable. Therefore I've installed TCPMP 0.71 which works just fine, all that keeps it from being perfect are the media buttons which are programmed to work with the windows media player.. Is there a way to set them to work with TCPMP? And, speaking of buttons, the small one on the left side of the phone, just above the volume controls - it opens the file manager by default, is it possible to make it launch another one (Resco explorer)? Thanks a lot in advance, and Happy New Year to ya! :D
Guest pd.ryder Posted December 26, 2006 Report Posted December 26, 2006 Hi Vang Welcome to the forum :D To answer your first question, the device will accept any headphones with a 2.5-3.5mm stereo size converter. I use a set of Sennheisers with my SPV C550 using an adapter from The Link but I don't know if they export to Lithuania :D The second question is best answered by a chap from the Phillipines - gpcarreon and I've added the link to the TCPMP patch which works a treat on an application unlocked device. There's tons of stuff on his site - things you never realised you needed, so happy hunting :D Merry Christmas :)

Guest pd.ryder Posted December 26, 2006 Report Posted December 26, 2006 I haven't tried 'em but I'm sure they'll be fine - unless the 2.5mm jack is "special" Nokia fitting, but I doubt it. It might be nice to try-before-you-buy unless they're sealed inside a super-durable, bomb proof, where's-the-axe type packaging :)
