Guest Prosody Posted December 27, 2006 Report Posted December 27, 2006 I'm looking to see if anyone has any input on a problem that my dad is having with his Vario 2. For the record I have a Vario 2 also but with a later serial number (His is a 632 and mine is a 645). About 3 weeks ago now I sent him one of the ZombieNexus skins that I found here. When he installed it his VArio2 crashed and upon soft resetting all that appeared was a white screen. We tried soft and hard resets all over the place and just got the same behaviour. However when we tap the screen in the right areas we know its working as the start button makes a sound when we tap its approximate area. This also proves that the hard reset took0 as usually screentaps are off but since trying a hard reset tapping certain screen areas produces a sound. Anyway we took it back to the TMobile store about a week and a half before XMas. It was sent away and came back fixed just before. Or so we thought. Christmas day the phone beeped to indicate a text message. He took it out of his pocket and once again it was a totally white screen. Tried the same resets and it's all the same as before. Anyone had anything similar? Anyone gt any tips for dealling with TMobile? Should we go back to store again or maybe try CC over the telephone / internet? Any advice appreciated. :)
Guest pd.ryder Posted December 27, 2006 Report Posted December 27, 2006 I've no light to shed I'm afraid, but I am a little concerned because I'm just about to order a Vario II for myself. How long has your dad had his (and you yours)?
Guest RRB Posted December 28, 2006 Report Posted December 28, 2006 Cant shed any light on the problem you have, but i had mine sent back for repair and it came back faulty. Took it back to the shop and they said they would send it away for repair again. I wasnt happy with this and said i had lost faith in the product and would like to return it for another phone altogether. This was refused buy the shop and Customer Service. The next day i went through T-Mobiles complaints form on their website and advised i would be taking the matter further, via Consumer Direct, OFT and CA as well as posting my disappointment on every major mobile phone web forum on the internet. Got a call the next day from Customer Relations informing me they would allow me to change the phone, so now im getting a new nokia delivered tomorrow. I would try the store and demand a new replacement not a repair. If they refuse then use the complaints procedure on T-mobile website and demand a new replacement or them them you will take it further. It was a slight struggle but im now happy that im getting the phone exchanged. Credit to T-Mobile in the end for keeping its customers happy, althought the shop i dealt with have to be the worst people i have ever dealt with in any purchase ive ever had. If the Tytn worked almost flawlessly it would be a great bit of kit, I just think there are too many problems with this device for me to persist with.
Guest Prosody Posted December 29, 2006 Report Posted December 29, 2006 Thanks for the replies. I suggested to my dad making a complaint via the website yesterday and found out from him that he was overnighted a brand new Vario2 with recent hardware serial number. It seems as though if you want a replacement phone then use the customer services number or the website and make a complaint. :) As for how long we've both had our phones. I've had mine for a month now with only a slight issue with a voicemail notification. My dad had his since release and the problems only started recently. I still love the machine. It's fast and has a keyboard and is perfect for my needs. :D
