Voicemail text alerts

Hi all, I just joined your group after looking for a while. I've just got a Vodafone 1605 (Hermes) on my contract (no cost) and generally I love it. One thing bothers me though: I have always used a text alert for new voicemails to stop the Vodafone mail system perstering me very 5 minutes. since I got the Hermes, the text alert doesn't arrive! If I leave myself a message and put my sim card in my old V600i I get a text alert, if I do the same thing with the sim card in my Hermes, nothing! I can get 'normal' voice mail alerts where you get a phone call every 5 minutes to say you have new voice mail, but htis text alert doesn't work! Needless to say that Vodafone are of no help at all! Anybody got any ideas??

This is a "known issue" with the TyTN. Every network that is associated with Vodafone has this problem. It seems as though although the device "acknowledges" the Voicemail SMS, it doesn't show it.

I belevee that a few people have managed to fiddle with their devices and sort it (there is a post somewhere on here about it), but officially it is still an unsolved problem with the TyTN!

Thank you for your reply yrreP, much appreciated. I suspected it was that sort of problem. At least I can report this to my retailer so that he can let other purchasers know.

If anybody out there has 'fixed' this, i'd be pleased to know how to do it.
