Guest daskew Posted December 27, 2006 Report Posted December 27, 2006 My local BTS is offering Edge, our lad is aware of this because his Samsung displays an 'E' instead of the usual 'G'. My SPV M3100 is still showing '3G', so how will I know that Edge is available?
Guest yrreP Posted December 27, 2006 Report Posted December 27, 2006 Generally, the only guaranteed way to tell will be by acessing the download speeds you acquire..! The faster the speed, the more like it is you are using EDGE / 3G! I am not aware of any reg value you can change that will enable to device to register an 'E' when connected to an EDGE network... but as I know sweet FA about that sort of thing anyway, I am most likely wrong!
Guest Confused Stu Posted December 28, 2006 Report Posted December 28, 2006 Not a clue if it works, but it hasn't crashed my Vario 2 in the 48hrs I've had this regsitry setting installed: http://www.pocketpctweaks.com/pocketpc_twe...ivate_edge_icon I had to add the registry entry in (it wasn't a case of just changing an existing one) but might be what you're after? Let us know for the sake of anyone else looking for this another time. Thanks!
