Guest awarner (MVP) Posted December 29, 2006 Report Posted December 29, 2006 When upgrading don't be mistaken with trying to use ROMs for SDA devices from Europe as they are not compatible as they are a completely different device. When upgrading you can use ROMs from i-mate SP5m and Qtek 8300 as for the need to upgrade it's not always worth doing as updates can be released to fix device and operator specific problems so unless you actually have any issues with your phone I would not update myself.

Guest Disco Stu Posted December 29, 2006 Report Posted December 29, 2006 I dont really have any problem whith my device but isnt the new roms better than old ones?? Not always. Some ROM updates fix problems you didn't know you had in the first place. If it ain't broke, no need to fix it. :D Some ROM updates change settings you didn't want changing. For example, you might have found an unlocking solution for your phone but the new ROM can't be unlocked the same way. It is not so easy to downgrade to the original ROM so you need to compare the 'before' and 'after' situations before you proceed. Hope this makes sense :)

I will appreciate any help!!! i would keep the t-mobile sda rom. ive tried just about every rom on my phone and i liked the t-mobile one the most. the reason why is that it allows most stuff, and by that i mean windows protected content. (no not illigal content) for example if your into changing soft keys and shortcuts on your phone it's able to be done (remapping the camera button, voice notes button, t-zones button). stuff like that. also u can hold down # and your phone switches to silent. plus, if u live in the US and are used to 12-hour time, youl find that some UK roms only have 24-hour time.
Guest Hennek Posted January 2, 2007 Report Posted January 2, 2007 Well tc for the help I made my mind and im keeping my T-mobile rom!! I installed too much programs and i'm just to lazy to do it again!! tx!!!
