Guest nedge2k Posted December 29, 2006 Report Posted December 29, 2006 Are you gagging for something other than QVGA resolution for your Smartphone or Pocket PC? Well, it looks like Hitachi could be comming to our collective rescues with a new widescreen display for mobile devices. Hitachi says it's an "industry first", a 2.9" 800x480 mobile display panel. Only problem I can see with this screen, should it make it's way into WM powered devices is that it's going to be a right pain for developers - yet another resolution to contend with! Guest sporkguy Posted December 29, 2006 Report Posted December 29, 2006 Ouch, imagine the drain on battery life at this stage. Nice development tho! :)
Guest Confucious Posted December 29, 2006 Report Posted December 29, 2006 Why 800 X 480 - not 640 X 480 (VGA) or 800 X 600 (SVGA)?
Guest PayableOnDeath Posted December 29, 2006 Report Posted December 29, 2006 Why 800 X 480 - not 640 X 480 (VGA) or 800 X 600 (SVGA)? Because it wouldnt be wide screen then :)
Guest muff Posted December 30, 2006 Report Posted December 30, 2006 Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
Guest Paul (MVP) Posted January 8, 2007 Report Posted January 8, 2007 Windows Mobile doesn't currently support this resolution, and AFAIK there are no new resolutions supported in Crossbow. I'm still waiting for the 480x480 square screens (that ARE supported in the current OS!) P
