problem with http links

I've been using my Vario II for a good 4/5 months and I have been very happy with it so far.

A problem started to appear over the past couple of days: in an email message or when reading a rss feed on Newsgator, when clicking a http link (to open the browser) I get an error message, as follows:

"the file http://www. etc cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its components cannot be found. You might need to reinstall or restore this file"

What's this? I had no problem before clicking on a link to visit a webpage. I thought I had bugged the device, so I hard reset the phone and reinstalled everything. But the problem persists -and it was not there 1 week ago.

Can anyone help me?

Thanks

Not a helpful comment for you I'm afraid but I can tell you that I have exactly the same issue on my TyTN. Damn annoying!

Anyone have a solution?

well, I did a hard reset and it solved the problem. I am curious as to what created the problem in the first place, though...

I had this problem some time ago. It was caused by installing Opera as my default browser and installing it on the SD card. By uninstalling and and reinstalling it again as the default browser but in main memory, the problem was fixed. I think it has something to do with the browser assuming that it will always be installed in main memory.

Hey, thanks for that! Just uninstalled Opera and I can open links again! Do you know if I install it on the memory card, but not select it as default browser will I get this problem? I couldn't find anywhere to change default browser status.

Menu > Tools > Settings > Misc > Set Opera as default browser (uncheck!)

I think it's a problem with installing Opera on the storage card instead of on the phone - there was a post by Opera on their forums about it. You could try a search there.

Personally, since I installed PIEPlus, I haven't used Opera. I've kept it installed in case I come across sites that PIE can't handle though.

Looking forward to the next version of Opera with some of the PIEPlus features. The main things for me is the lack of a "full" full screen mode and draggable scrolling.
